La base de la instalación es el espacio industrial de Nikkelstraat Rotterdam, Makkinkrianne y Jurgen Bey.

Esta gran sala ha funcionado como una casa, oficina, garaje, almacenes, nave de producción, galería, casa de huéspedes, retrete, huertos escolares, y de laboratorio todo en uno.

La instalación evoca el ambiente que Makkink y Bey consideran para la casa ideal.

In the Arched Gallery the studio presents a selection of its oeuvre. This selection, or 'Household' is a result of the subject of the exhibition : 'Changing Ideals: Re-thinking the House'

The basis of the installation is the industrial space at Nikkelstraat Rotterdam, Rianne Makkink and Jurgen Bey until recently inhibited. This big hall has functioned as a house, office, garage, storage space, production hall, gallery, guesthouse, outhouse, school, garden and laboratory all-in-one. The installation at NAI evokes the same atmosphere as the now abandoned space that Makkink & Bey considered the ideal house.
